BOOK REVIEW GUIDELINES

The Psychological Record is pleased to publish commentary on recently published books. Most reviews are 2-4 printed pages and describe the contents of the book, make a statement about its degree of relevance and interest to a specific readership in the profession, and express an opinion as to the value of the book to its targeted readers.  As soon as the commentary is received at the editorial office the book becomes the property of the reviewer.  A review should be provided in six to eight weeks of receipt of the book. If there is a specific new book which you would like to review, send the reference to the journal and we will try to obtain it from the publisher. Generally, but not always, they will oblige. Book reviews may be submitted by e-mail.

Individuals who would like to submit book reviews should check with the Editor first about the appropriateness of a review of a particular book for the journal. All book reviews are subject to peer review the Editor’s final decision regarding publication once submitted.
